Entrance Permits and Fees
Nearly the entire trail can be hiked without entrance permits or paying an entrence fees. A few exceptions are mentioned already above under [[#Trekking Direction|Tekking Direction]].
The right of way is a vague and sometimes ignored public right in Chile. By Chilean law the access to the coast, to lakes and to rivers is a public right but there are numerous cases even in the media where this public right get disregarded. There are simply no penalties if someone unlawfully denys access. I'm not sufficently familiar with Chilean law to state if this there is legal or nota similar public right of way for all the horse and hiking trails that lead over private properties.
