Bethany Hughes and Lauren Reed (https://her-odyssey.org/) who practically just thru-hiked the entire GPT in the last two seasons contributed heavily by investigating and recording the recently added northern extension of the GPT to Santiago de Chile.

Based on this information and contributions from other hikers I plan to update the trail documentation in the coming 8 months to have an full update available by October 2017 before the next hiking season.
