We chose variants A, 01A and 01, so it was easy section which leads mainly on a paved road. There is a nice view of Cerro Castillo on the beginning and a waterfall of Rio Ibáñez [148.4/212] was also worth it.
From the point X [1.3/328] to the point X [5.5/554] we ascent on the minor road. The rest of this section is on the paved road.
CHALLENGES: Monotonous walk on the paved road.
BIVOUACING: There is a fence along the road most of the time, but it's possible to find some quiet places on the pastures. We spent the only night here:
WATER: Water from the nearby lakes, eventually from Rio Ibáñez. There are almost no small streams close to the road.
RESUPPLY: There is a well stocked store in the center of Villa Cerro Castillo, called 'Janito'. Close to there is a stylish foodtruck made of two old buses.
There are more opportunities in Puerto Ingeniero Ibáñez (at least 2 stores and even more restaurants).
