We opted to paddle this scenic lake as part of our packrafting warmup at the beginning of the season.
For me, Lago Rosselot is part of the top ten packrafting lakes of the GPT. The north-south orientation makes this 22 km long lake relatively wind protected. There are a few houses on the northern terminus and at the two river deltas 5 km south of the northern terminus. So most of the lake is pure wilderness. Packrafters that paddle Rio Palena should consider stopping at La Junta, paddle this lake and continue with Palena.
The mostly steep shore limits the exit options significantly. Suitable camp sites are at the northern terminus, both river deltas and at the southern terminus. Packrafters best go to the southern terminus in one day and return on the next morning. To avoid wind on a normal sunny day best get up early and arrive early.
