Ğ==Season 2025/26== * ''' GPT19 | 2026-02-18 to 2026-02-21 I 3,5 days | hiking | SOBO I Route: Option 2 - RR - Option 1 - RR - Option 4A - RR | Michaela ''' Day 1: I took a small bus from Futrono to Riñinahue, which runs daily on weekdays at 9:55 am in front of "Supermercado Big" (3,000 CLP). I was able to hitchhike until Pichico (4 km before Los Venados). Here I met the first GPT hiker directly on the trail - he was following a public GPT route from the internet. We walked together for a few hours. At Hector & Neris place we could refill water. They charged 5,000 CLP each for crossing their property and let us write our contacts in a book. After that, there was no more water for the day.Camp: -40.487822, -72.148836 Day 2: After the very impressive geysers, I took option 1 - the detour to the hot springs. Unfortunately, there was very little water and the water was too hot for a bath. While I was there, a family arrived with their private helicopter to visit the hot springs, but the water was too hot for them as well, so they left after 10 minutes. It was still a nice detour: the valley is beautiful. The first water I found since Hector & Neris was here. The big stream starts at -40.48677, -72.17843 and continues almost all the way to the hot springs.Camp: -40.529848, -72.17341 - not a great spot, but okay Day 3: Beautiful day hiking mainly on iron volcanic sand. There were 2 small streams with clear water: -40.56313, -72.14318 and -40.596121, -72.133504. All other streams were dry. I took option 4A up to Puyehue, and on the way down I made my own route.Camp: -40.602392, -72.134003 – nice flat spot protected from wind. There is a stream next to it, but the water has a milk-coffee color with a lot of sediment. Day 4: Descent to Anticura, arriving around noon. I stayed at Camping "Catrué", which is a really nice place in the rainforest with warm showers and electricity for every plot. It costs 18,000 CLP (up to 2 people).
