Season 2025/26
* <span style="background-color:aqua;">'''2025-12-26 to 2025-12-27 / 2 Days / Packrafting / SOBO / RP / Michel, Lisa & Antoine'''</span>

Day 1

We visited Shop {25H-A} [41.6+0.9/346] which had a good selection but no veggies other than potatoes and onions but that may be because of the holidays. Cheese, fresh bread, butter, meat.
After stocking up we walked to [-43.13888, -71.57724] which is a private lodge but they allowed us to put in there (too lazy to walk the last few hundred meters). They told us that water levels are rather low at the moment. There was a really strong headwind and gusts (40-50 km/h mean and 80 km/h gusts; forecast were up to 90km/h westerly gusts) but we decided to give it a go anyhow. Started paddling at 12:30.
Generally there are many good looking camping options along the river but mind the water levels of course. Lots of private land and fancy houses that you probably want to steer clear of for camping. At [-41.172592, -71.615737] there would be a really nice, flat, grassy campsite with space for quite a few tents (≥3) that could be high enough (there are signs of people making fires here)
It took us 3h (excluding some short breaks) to get to [-43.17043, -71.66607], where we camped on this nice little island. If you chose to camp here too, there are spots for 3-4 tents that seem to be above the (normal) maximum water level (but it's hard to judge what is the normal level here or how high it rises). Two close to the beach and 1-2 more in the forest which are very well sheltered ([-43.17045, -71.66558]) and with a nice view just next to the water (1-2.5 m above the water line when we were there)

Day 2

We started at our nice camp at 10:30 and paddled down the river, making sure to stay in the lee as best we could. That way it was mostly quite pleasant paddling. Even after the river turns completely westwards, about 5.5km before the border ([-43.16703, -71.69976]) the wind wasn't too bad (usually we could stay in the lee somehow) and so we continued all the way to the border in 2 h 40min. Rapid {70} [28.4/326] was almost nonexistent but it seems we had low water levels. Took out at the bridge, crossed the border. Michel & Lisa got a lift about 1 km after the Chilean border control to Futaleufú. Antoine got back on the river at River In 70-B [0.2/332km]. The river was much faster, beautiful and much fun. The 8km down to River Out 70-B [8.9/304] went by pretty quick. I scouted the Class III rapid, and I could take a safe line on the left (right light be possible too) without portaging (note: water levels were low). At the exit, the owner came by to check out and was friendly. I then walked to town.
