==Season 2024/25==

*'''22 -feb to 25-feb 2025 / 2.5 days / OH 01 + RR + Monte Bettinelli / MiaimZelt'''

Day 1: Was sick for many days and didn't feel really well when starting, therefore decided to skip Lago Windhond. Very easy hiking Cerro to Bandera. The slope below Cumbre Bander is very steep and the trail is very small and exposed - no problem with good weather, but would not recommend this in snowy conditions. Short, but very steep descent to Laguna Salto. Saw only one good spot here, further up there are more possibilites, but exposed. Paso Australia and Paso de los Dientes were both easy and nice. Did a detour to Monte Bettinelli and pitched my tent here with dry ground and some protection by forest: -55.026471, -67.65712 before ascending the mountain. Incredible views! Watched cute beavers in the pond next to my campspot.

Day 2: Waked up with sleet in the morning. Hiked back to the main trail to continue the Dientes Circuit. Fortunately the rain stopped soon and i could enjoy the beauty of nature. Nice hiking to Paso Ventarron and Laguna Martillo. -54.992911, -67.781427 This was the only campspot with good protection from the wind i saw. You often find flat ground but mostly it's very wet. The first half of the ascent to Paso Virginia was tricky due to the very very muddy trail. Started snowing here. The second half was much easier, but i couldn't see anything due to bad weather.
The descent was easier than expected: extremely steep with very loose ground, you slide down a bit with every step, like walking on sand. Camped at the end of Laguna de los Guanacos behind low beech bushes. Snowed the whole evening and some minutes after pitching my tent strong winds started. Got stronger during the night and couldn't sleep due to the noise of the snowstorm, but the tent was fine.
Navigation was easy so far.

Day 3: Trail was often not visible with the snow, also less signs and cairns than the other days. A few meters below the lake i found a campspot (at least for 3-4 tents: -54.951364, -67.76058) with very good shelter in the forest. I would recommend these instead of the spots next to the lake, but i didn't know this option last evening.
Descent from the lake to the road was more difficult than from Paso Virginia because it was muddy like hell. Maybe it was because of the bad weather. -54.94473, -67.732571 Here the trail splits up to left and right. Took the left trail suggested from the GPT-files. First part was nice and easy, later is was awful: a maze of mud and no trail nor signs. I guess the trail to the right is maybe better. Was relieved when i reached the road and got a hitch soon.
