What we experienced on the trail seems to mirror the attitude of the Chilean society: The humble poor people on the trail opened the doors to their houses to give us shelter and they literally shared their bread with us without even asking for itmoney. But some of the super-rich denied passage over their immense properties on which they normally don’t even live when kindly asking for permission to pass.
