Day 1
I walked all day on minor roads, almost 30 km. I hoped to hitchhike part of the way, but not a single car passed.

I did not take the GPT track of Option 1 via Laguna Isolde. I stayed on the minor road because I wanted to arrive early at the termas and have more time to enjoy them.

I arrived around 3 pm and decided to stay at Termas San Sebastián. They felt a bit more comfortable and cost the same as the Eco Camp (15,000 CLP). The owners are super friendly. There were only two other families.
I had an amazing campsite far away from the people, right next to the river.

Day 2
I started just before noon from the termas. I followed Option 1 until here: -39.116396, -71.680268, then I followed an OSM trail to Lake Caburgua.

I think this could be a good new option for the GPT to avoid problems with CONAF in Huerquehue National Park.
At the lake, the trail soon turns into a dirt road. There are some cars, so hitchhiking is possible. I walked along the shore hoping to find a camping spot, but no luck. Almost the entire lakeshore is private property.
In the end, I hitchhiked the last 2–3 km to Camping Los Maitenes (10,000 CLP). It’s a quiet campsite with electricity, warm water, and a washing machine. Not directly at the lake, but only a 5-minute walk.

The next day I took the bus to Pucón for a few rest days. Rain is coming.

Route from Curarrehue to Reigolil. Road walking through beautiful valleys, hiking the spectacular Nevados de Sollipolli, aracharia forests and hot springs.

We started on Option A because of wet, cold, snow forecast for Laguna Hualalafquén. Termas de Panqui are great: very rustic with several temperatures available. 40 mil per person for cute cabanas and 24 hour access to the pools. Perfect for a day of all rain and low clouds.

Trail over the pass to Reigolil is easy to follow with the GPS tracks, despite the dire warnings we received about slippery mud and getting lost.

Roky, mentioned in an earlier post, also offers lodging but he replied to us after we had already passed his location.

In Reigolil, the shop just past the Carabineros is adequate for resupply. Owner of the shop also has a cabana. Very friendly hospedaje right across the street, 20 mil per person and 2 meals a day. Call Lucy: 56985982289 and 56982524177. Spent 2 stormy days here.
